As is expected, every year a small vocal minority of religious folk take up their war banners and begin their campaign to convince the church that celebrating Christmas is a sin. While I respect their personal convictions what I don't respect is their lack of tolerance and acceptance for those who disagree.
Caught in the middle of this skirmish are many who don't know what to make of it. They want to celebrate Christmas because they love it, but the constant anti-Christmas barrage coupled with a list of misused proof texts about God hating paganism has them confused. What to do? As a result of this seemingly never ending debate I have decided to share 3 articles that may be of help. But first allow me to make 3 points.
1) Those who do not celebrate Christmas are not wrong in doing so. The Bible does not require it so those of us who do celebrate Christmas should accept the convictions of those who don't.
2) Those who do celebrate Christmas are not wrong in doing so. The Bible does not forbid it so those who do not celebrate Christmas should accept the convictions of those who do.
3) The articles I am sharing below will not convince anyone that celebrating Christmas is OK if they have already made up their mind that it isn't, but if you are caught in the cross fire and unsure what to do, they will give you some great insights.Regardless of what your convictions are I pray you have a wonderful season and a happy new year. And for those of you who love Christmas, Mele Kalikimaka!
